چکیده
In this study, the spatiotemporal distribution and characteristics of different precipitation types (stratiform, convective, snow) over China are analyzed using radar mosaic images during summer season 4 years (from 2018 to 2021). The convective occurs most frequently along eastern coast regions. June, strong convection center is located in Southern moves northward Eastern July, while lowest frequency August. Stratiform dominates mainly distributes inland regions, with highest Snowfall primarily presents mountains plateau regions Western occurrence around 20%. snowfall area July significantly smaller than that June stratiform, show diurnal variation terms solar standard time (LST) especially for snowfall. demonstrates a bimodal pattern, peak afternoon (15–16 LST) secondary early morning (04–07 LST). active from next (14–05 more common nighttime (around 12%) daytime 4%). ratio at midnight higher It expected study on can be used as reference hydrometeorological research also improve understanding China.

Variability of summer precipitation over eastern China
We use measurements of recent decades, 1500-yr proxy data, and millennium model simulations with a variety of climate facings to study the temporal and spatial variability of summer precipitation over eastern China. Spectral analysis of the proxy data using multi-taper method reveals three statistically significant bidecadal (15–35-yr), 5 pendadecadal (40–60-yr), and centennial (65–170-yr) osci...
متن کاملPrecipitation estimation over radar gap areas based on satellite and adjacent radar observations
Continuous rainfall measurements from groundbased radars are crucial for monitoring and forecasting heavy rainfall-related events such as floods and landslides. However, complete coverage by ground-based radars is often hampered by terrain blockage and beam-related errors. In this study, we presented a method to fill the radar gap using surrounding radar-estimated precipitation and observations...
متن کاملPrecipitation microphysics characteristics of a Typhoon Matmo (2014) rainband after landfall over eastern China based on polarimetric radar observations
The evolution of microphysical characteristics of a rainband in Typhoon Matmo (2014) over eastern China, through its onset, developing, mature, and dissipating stages, is documented using observations from an S band polarimetric Doppler radar and a two-dimensional video disdrometer (2DVD). The drop size distributions observed by the 2DVD and retrieved from the polarimetric radar measurements in...
متن کاملCloud radar observations of precipitation
An innovative method for the observation of vertical air motion and raindrop size distribution in precipitation using a 94-GHz Doppler radar is demonstrated in this paper. The method is particularly appealing since it is based on fundamental physics, the scattering of microwave radiation by large particles (Mie scattering). Observations from stratiform rain are presented to illustrate the poten...
متن کاملOn the Enhanced Temporal Coherency of Radar Observations in Precipitation
In this work, the authors present observations of enhanced temporal coherency beyond that expected using the observations of the standard deviation of the Doppler velocities and the assumption of a family of exponentially decaying autocorrelation functions. The purpose of this paper is to interpret these observations by developing the complex amplitude autocorrelation function when both incoher...
